A one-time consultation, postural assessment and remedial massage treatment at a bargain price
Service Description
I’m doing extra training in remedial and sports massage, so I’m offering discounted treatments to help me practise what I’m learning. Please note these sessions are already heavily discounted, so extra discounts (student, NHS, etc.) do not apply. Availability is limited, so please request a slot but be aware I can't accommodate everyone. A 90-min session includes (timings approximate): 15 min consultation 15 min postural observation 50 min massage treatment 10 min feedback and aftercare advice DOES IT HURT? Not the way I do it! The philosophy of my training is: “no pain, much to gain”. My focus is always on working with your body, not against it. No bruising, no “beaten up” feeling afterwards; I use your feedback to adjust pressure so it’s both effective and comfortable. WHAT'S A POSTURAL OBSERVATION? Please wear shorts and a vest-style top (or go shirtless if comfortable and without breasts). I’ll ask you to stand and perhaps move while I take a look at various joints and palpate (feel) key muscles. I won’t be judging you, I’ll just be gathering clues that might help inform your treatment. HOW’S THIS DIFFERENT FROM YOUR HOLISTIC / DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE? Many techniques are shared, but the focus is more rehabilitation than relaxation (though I always include some of that too). The consultation might be more in-depth, and I’ll be looking to find one focus for your treatment. It’s less likely to be full-body relaxation while you drift off, more likely we’ll communicate while I address things like chronic pain, muscle imbalance, or range of motion. INCLUSIVITY My holistic, mental health and trauma-informed approach to massage takes into account your physical, mental and emotional needs. I strive to be anti-oppressive, anti-racist, LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence friendly and welcoming to all body types. I recognise (and celebrate!) that people come in all shapes, sizes, colours and textures - all of them very deserving of some TLC. SAFETY Your safety and comfort are my top priority. All my services are safe and professional, with a zero tolerance policy for sexual conduct. You're given privacy to change and draped throughout - I uncover only the area I'm working on at the time, and never areas that would be covered by a bikini. You're always in control of what include or avoid, and you can be clothed if you prefer. I only offer massage to people aged 18+.
Cancellation Policy
If you can't make your appointment, please let us know ASAP! That includes if you have a medical condition that contraindicates massage or are contagious with an airborne illness (e.g. covid-19, cold, flu). In that case, it's important you don't attend for the health of our massage therapists and other clients, some of whom are immuno-compromised. It's your responsibility to please let us know ASAP so we can reschedule. MORE THAN 48 HRS NOTICE: Rescheduling is free of charge. Cancellations incur a small admin fee (5% of the full service price). LESS THAN 48 HRS NOTICE: We can only reschedule free of charge if your slot gets filled up. Otherwise, rescheduling incurs a fee of 50% of the full service price. For no shows or cancellations, we will have to retain the full appointment fee to cover our costs and loss of income. IF YOU'VE BOOKED FOR TWO, BUT ONLY ONE CAN MAKE IT: Instead of rescheduling/cancelling, you can swap for a 4 hands massage (1hr maximum) or an individual massage. Please let us know as far in advance as possible if you'd like to do this. IF WE ARE UNABLE TO FULFIL YOUR APPOINTMENT: (e.g. due to being ill ourselves), we will always let you know as far in advance as possible and give you options at no charge.
